We exist for Queenslanders

At the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland, we’re more than our insurance, assistance, banking, car and solar products. RACQ is owned by our 1.7 million members and we’ve been a force for good in Queensland communities for over 117 years.

How does your membership make all the difference?

  • We reward our members with discounts that make life in Queensland even brighter.
  • We help local communities flourish through sponsorships, events, and education programs.
  • We advocate to make Queensland safe, affordable, and sustainable, now and into the future.

Find out more about Queensland’s largest club

RACQ was formed in 1905 to advocate for motorists and improve road safety.

Our early members’ valuable contributions to the community through World War 1 were officially recognised by George V when he approved the use of the ‘Royal’ prefix in the Club’s name in 1921.

A century later, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young PSM Governor of Queensland became a vice-regal patron of RACQ. This patronage acknowledges the positive difference RACQ continues to make in Queensland.
