RACQ was formed in 1905 to advocate for motorists and improve road safety.
Our early members’ valuable contributions to the community through World War 1 were officially recognised by George V when he approved the use of the ‘Royal’ prefix in the Club’s name in 1921.
A century later, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young PSM Governor of Queensland became a vice-regal patron of RACQ. This patronage acknowledges the positive difference RACQ continues to make in Queensland.
